Hello campers!  Mark your calendars for our annual UUFS family campout. This year it will be on the first weekend in August (Aug 2-4) and we will camp at Mount Madonna County Park, west of Gilroy.  I reserved the Indian Rock Group Camp (capacity 50) for two nights. There will be plenty of room for everyone who would like to come. You can join us for one night or two nights, or even just to hike in the redwood forest and enjoy the campfire with us without spending the night if you prefer. Children of all ages are welcome. Invite a friend! If you lack any equipment (tent, stove, etc.), or don’t know what to bring, let me know and we will help you.
  • Dogs on leash are permitted in the park including on hiking trails. The forest at Mount Madonna is second-growth redwood forest. The park has 14 miles of hiking trails, including a trail to the “Giant Twins” (two large redwoods).
  • The park is about an hour drive from Sunnyvale, west of Gilroy off highway 152. It is 47 miles from Sunnyvale, 11 miles from Gilroy, 9 miles from Watsonville, 26 miles from Santa Cruz, 8 miles from Gilroy Gardens family theme park, and 26 miles from Casa de Fruta.
