Rosh Hashanah: The Beginning of the Days of Awe

September 29, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 pm

The Days of Awe are ten days that are set aside each year in the Jewish tradition for a time of reflection, repentance and renewal—days that culminate with Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement, which is the holiest day of the year for observant Jews.
Author Malka Brucker writes, “The Days of Awe give each of us an opportunity to look back over the preceding year and think about what we did that felt right to us and what we did that didn’t feel as right. It is also a time set aside to forgive—a time to literally or figuratively go to those who we have harmed—intentionally or inadvertently—and to ask for their forgiveness.
And then to literally or figuratively go to those who have harmed us in some way—and to forgive them— that we might have peace of mind. It is also a time to begin the process of forgiving ourselves.”
Join us as we contemplate the place forgiveness has in our lives.
