“White Fragility”: A Discussion

We will be learning more about the ideas advanced in Robin DiAngelo’s best-selling book “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk about Racism.” Our discussion will be facilitated by UUFS members Kris Mordan and Sam Knapp.
“White Fragility” explores the defensive moves made by white people when challenged racially and how these reactions are counterproductive, preventing meaningful cross-racial dialogue from taking place. DiAngelo examines how white fragility develops, how it protects racial inequality, and what we can do to engage more constructively.
