Gender Is Actually Complicated

As a welcoming congregation, UUFS has committed to create a safe space for people of all gender identities. UUFS member Anouchka Gaillard—a cisgender woman—will speak to us from the perspective of an advocate for people who do not identify as cisgender. Anouchka will introduce today’s speaker, Bear Flintgruber (they/them/their pronouns) Bear will talk about why a better understanding of gender both personally, and as a system, is important for everyone and they will provide an overview of words and concepts to help folks understand transgender experiences and start making the world a better place for everyone whose gender gets them into trouble.
