Bravery and Justice

March 22, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

WE WILL NOT BE MEETING IN PERSON. This link https://zoom.us/j/2523611371 will take you to the Zoom website and will offer instructions on how to download and install the Zoom software.
Presenter Reverend Jo Green.
In this year of dissent and discourse, how do we find those qualities within ourselves to help better the world we live in? Are our Seven Principles enough to make the deep changes in ourselves and the world that needs to so desperately happen? This Sunday let us explore how we can become brave, how we can bring justice, and how we can add much more kindness to this world we live in.
The Reverend Jo Ann Elizabeth Green is currently the Interim Minister at Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Jo, as she prefers to be called, is in her second year as Interim on the West Coast after spending 4 years on the East Coast. She came to ministry as a third career after years teaching art to 7th Graders and working in the corporate world later on. She graduated from Starr King School for the Ministry with a Master of Divinity degree and completed her Internship and Residency at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill. This church, along with the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Restoration where she was a Consulting Minister, ordained her. She holds a BA in Art and Art History and a Masters in Counseling from Southern Illinois University. Jo is a recent UU, only finding this denomination in 2005, but her fervor and passion for what Unitarian Universalism stands for is long standing. Social Justice and the guidance of the Seven Principles propels her in her daily life. Originally discovering Unitarian Universalism in Southern California, she has been a member of two congregations in this state and one on the East Coast. Her passions and talents lie in the creative realm, as an actor, artist, and singer (but please don’t ask her to dance much) and revels in bringing creativity to all aspects of her life and the lives of others. She has a passion to learn to play the ukulele and hopes to begin to learn very soon!
