Graduates of Eden

July 30, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Guest presenter Dr. Chris Schriner.
Human beings function splendidly in some environments, but very badly in others. Dr. Chris Schriner will explore the mismatch between human nature and the complicated world we have created – and what we can do to survive and thrive in spite of our “design defects.” This challenge is especially important in today’s political context.
Chris is the Minister Emeritus of the Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Fremont and is also a retired psychotherapist. Chris earned a B.A. from the University of Redlands, a Doctorate in Religion from Claremont School of Theology, and an M.S. in Family Counseling from the University of LaVerne. His Honors Thesis at Redlands examined the ethical thought of theologian Paul Tillich and his dissertation at Claremont School of Theology dealt with nuclear weapons policy.
Chris is the author of six books, including “Your Living Mind: The Mystery of Consciousness and Why It Matters to You” and “Bridging the God Gap: Finding Common Ground Among Believers, Atheists and Agnostics.” Copies of his books will be available for examination. He is also an active blogger at www.SchrinerBooksAndBlogs.com and Theists & Atheists: Communication & Common Ground. Chris lives in Fremont and he is married to Jo Ann Schriner, a music therapist. We are happy to have Jo Ann with us this morning.
