Living UU Values with the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee.
Join us as we kick off the annual fundraiser of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC), supporting social justice issues in this country and around the world. This morning Teri Wiss will discuss this year’s Guest at Your Table theme — Small Change Is Big Change — which celebrates the bravery, innovation, and reach of UUSC’s grassroots partners. Teri will give some examples of UUSC partners responding to great challenges with limited resources, including those addressing persecution in Burma (Myanmar), encroaching rising sea levels and erosion in the South Pacific, and immigration detention conditions in the United States.

Teri Wiss and her husband Gary Hartz decided that the UU Service Committee was a way to support Social Justice and 15 years ago began a matching grant to encourage donations from our Fellowship. When Gary died, in 2010, Teri decided to continue the matching grant, and remember Gary each year, by naming the grant in his honor. Additional donation matches will be discussed and may result in a quadrupling effect of your donation. Come learn more!
