We will continue to explore the myth of race and its continuing destructive force on society. Why does the myth persist? In addition we will discuss terms often used when talking about race such as eugenics, genocide, stereotypes, and institutional racism. At the end we will go over real life situations and talk about possible ways to handle them. UUFS member Janet Takahashi will facilitate this discussion and encourages everyone to bring their favorite quotes, sayings or poems about equality to share with the group.

The third and final session (March 25th) will help us with some non-defensive communication techniques. Ideas will be taken from the book “Taking the War Out of Our Words: The Art of Powerful Non-Defensive Communication” by Sharon S. Ellison.
