Animism: Me and You

Longtime UUFS member and guest speaker Brad Youngman has terminal cancer, and this has led him unconsciously to be more aware of his religious thoughts and feelings. Although he is a professed agnostic, he finds that his interest in possibilities of the unknown have heightened. For example, if forced to profess a named religion, he discovers that he might accept being labeled an Animist. Animism is the first religion practiced by humankind and Brad was delighted to find that it is still practiced today, both in “primitive” societies as well as fully modern ones. His primary source of information is “The Handbook of Contemporary Animism” edited by Graham Harvey.
