Members Amy Mori and Janet Takahashi will share their thoughts as we mark the 75th anniversary of the issuance of executive order 9066, which forcibly evacuated all those of Japanese ancestry from their West Coast homes. This date has come to symbolize the denial of due process because of one’s race and a time that was marked by fear, intimidation, and hysteria. This anniversary is a reminder that “justice, equity and compassion in human relations” must remain paramount in our dealings with one another.
